Terms of Service

Unclench (“the service”) is a personal journaling application. By using it you agree to these terms. The service is provided as-is, on a best-effort basis, and is not a substitute for medical, psychological, or professional advice.

Unclench supports a reflective evening practice. It is not therapy, counselling, or a mental-health service. If you are in distress or crisis, please reach out to a qualified professional or an emergency service in your country.

You may use the service as a guest (no account) or with an email + password. You are responsible for the confidentiality of your password. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

Your reflections belong to you. We claim no ownership. In guest mode your reflections stay on your device; in email mode they are stored on our servers so that you can access them from any device (see the Privacy Policy).

You agree not to use the service to store or transmit unlawful, harmful, or infringing content.

Unclench is offered on a free-trial + one-time payment model. You may create up to 5 journal entries for free in either guest or email mode. Beyond that, an upgrade prompt appears offering:

• Lifetime access — A$4.99 (one-time, GST included where applicable). Paid via Stripe. No subscription, no renewal, no recurring charges.
• Promo code redemption. Certain codes issued at our sole discretion may unlock lifetime access at no additional cost.

Lifetime access unlocks unlimited journaling and the full Unclench Companion — a 17-page PDF guide to the practice, delivered by email on unlock and available any time inside Settings → The Companion. A short 5-page preview of the Companion is freely available to everyone.

Lifetime access is tied to your Unclench email account and does not transfer between accounts. It grants access for as long as Unclench remains operational; see “Availability” below.

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. — we never see or store your card details. Prices are shown in Australian dollars (AUD). Currency conversion is handled by your bank or card issuer.

Because Unclench is a digital, non-tangible good delivered instantly upon payment, purchases are generally non-refundable. The Unclench Companion PDF included with lifetime access is a digital file delivered immediately at checkout — a free 5-page preview is available before purchase so you can evaluate the guide beforehand, and once the full Companion has been downloaded or accessed the digital goods are considered supplied. If you believe you were charged in error, or the app was materially non-functional at the time of purchase, contact us within 14 days at the email below and we'll do our best to resolve it fairly. This does not affect any statutory rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.

Promo codes are issued at Unclench's sole discretion, have no cash value, cannot be sold or transferred, and may be revoked before redemption if fraud or abuse is suspected. Each code has a limited number of uses and expires when its limit is reached.

We aim to keep the service available and functional, but we do not guarantee any specific uptime or performance. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

You can delete your email account at any time from Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and all associated reflections. Guest data lives only on your device; clearing your browser data removes it.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service and its makers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising out of your use of the service, including any loss of data.

We may update these terms. If we do, we will update the date above and notify signed-in users on their next login.

Apple, the Apple logo, and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. Google Play and the Google Play logo are trademarks of Google LLC. Stripe is a registered trademark of Stripe, Inc. Any references to these marks on Unclench are made solely to indicate interoperability or availability and do not imply any endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation.

All other trademarks, service marks, and trade names referenced on the service are the property of their respective owners.

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any dispute arising from your use of the service will be resolved in the courts of Queensland, Australia, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
